We get very attached to our stories (beliefs, perspectives, interpretations) and surprisingly, even when there is a less distressing way to interpret something, we tend to hang on. We say "that's JUST how I FEEL!" Is it true that we don't have any wiggle room with our feelings? That they just happen to us without any input on our part? Pay attention to the impact you experience when you experiment with alternate ways to think about the things that come your way.
